Australian professional basketball player Andrew Bogut has officially retired from the sport, announcing his decision on his podcast "Rogues Bogues" on Tuesday.
Bogut mentioned the growing toll of his injuries, age, and the COVID-19 pandemic ending his bid for a shot at an Olympic medal.
“The decision hasn’t been an easy one, but I think it is the right decision. The decision that I made and where I will be signing for next season is absolutely nowhere. I will be retiring from professional basketball, effective immediately,” Bogut said.
Bogut won an NBA Championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2015, competed in three Olympics, and was a member of the 2016 squad that finished fourth at Rio in 2016.
