Darna to the rescue: Angel Locsin donates 1M for Typhoon Rolly victims

After Typhoon Rolly wreaked havoc in the Bicol region and afflicted around 2 million people, Angel Locsin has once again proven that she is the real-life Darna, donating P1,000 each to 1,000 victims.

Locsin, who usually helps every time a calamity hits the country, immediately acted by giving out cash aid to affected residents via her Instagram post.

“Though we would like to reach out to everyone who are in need, our resources are limited and can only accommodate the first 1,000 valid requests. Each request will receive Php1,000. Valid only from Nov 2-3, 2020,” part of her post read.

Locsin later announced that the acceptance of valid requests would be extended until November 4 since a lot of affected areas still do not have electricity and means of communication.

Aside from Locsin, Catriona Gray also joined in the call for help by using her Instagram of over 10.6 million followers to plead for help through response operations of the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC).

Meanwhile, Enchong Dee also called out for in-kind aids instead of cash. He preferred in-kind donations because what people need for now are hygiene kits and relief packs.

Considered as the strongest typhoon in the world for 2020, Typhoon Rolly also lashed places in other parts of Luzon, including Batangas, Quezon province, and Occidental Mindoro.
