“All the clothes belong to dead people who died from different causes," Kanittha Thongnak told Reuters in an interview.
Kanittha Thongnak, a 32-year-old woman from Thailand, spend hours on Facebook Live to sell clothes of dead people while dressed up as a zombie, telling her buyers a brief history of how the owners of the clothes exactly died.
She got this idea after she attended a funeral and saw clothes from the deceased being burned by their tradition. Instead of getting the clothes burned, Kanittha buys and resells it via Facebook Live.
Kanittha gets her items from the director of a local funeral after a monk offers prayers to the corpses. She also donates some of her earnings to the temple.
She sells these unique items at 100 baht ($3.5) or 155 Philippine pesos, regardless if the item is branded or not.
"Most of my customers are people from different religions, for instance Muslims, and the ones who are not scared, or someone who wants to help support me. Some of the people don't even want the clothes. They just transfer the money to participate in the donation," Kanittha stated.
Aside from selling preloved clothes of dead people, she also sells handmade zombie dolls.
