Cebu journalists group, PNP chief to launch 'shoot-for-a-cause'

The Cebu Federation of Beat Journalists (CFBJ) along with Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Debold Sinas will hold a ceremonial shoot-for-a-cause on December 1.

Composed of legitimate news practitioners from established media outfits in Cebu, CFBJ will launch its first fundraising event three months after its new set of officers took over.

Sinas will lead the ceremonial opening of shoot-for-a-cause, the fundraising's first major event. The participants of the competition are the police personnel from the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office.

Defense Press Corps president and CFBJ president Arnold Bustamante said they are grateful for the unwavering support of the police force to Cebu media.

"We are an organization with over a hundred members, when the new officers thought of organizing a fundraising event, Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 regional director Brigadier General Albert Ignatius Ferro offered to help and this shooting competition is a realization of our plans in the organization," Bustamante stated.

He added that the funds that will be raised will serve as the support fund for CFBJ's emergency and health program.

"The organization, together with the new officers, are happy to announce that General Sinas is our guest of honor on the ceremonial shoot on December 1," Bustamante said.

The first stage of the three-day shooting competition is set on December 18-20 but was moved to an earlier date due to the availability of Sinas.
