Cebu City's latest Covid-19 update: No active cases for 41 barangays



The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) revealed that 41 out of 80 barangays in Cebu City did not tally any record of active COVID-19 cases in the past 14 days today.


Four of the 41 barangays that no longer have active cases remained consistent as COVID-19 free since the start of the pandemic.


The city’s number of COVID-19 positivity rate hovers around 300-400 individuals every day; as of October 8, 2020, Cebu City's positivity rate tallied to 1.76 percent for the 736 tested individuals.


Based on the recent data from the city’s EOC, outside transmission in public markets has been identified as the top source of transmissions, comprising 24.72 percent. General places follow with a tally of 18.96 percent, workplaces at 14.65 percent, supermarkets with 12.93 percent, while household infection and transmission are down to 16.3 percent.


The EOC continually urged the public to remain vigilant and follow the safety protocols.
